Sandra Marlowe - Singer, Artist, Educator
A singer, recording artist and performer whose debut album, True Blue., was released in 2012 to international acclaim, Sandra Marlowe’s latest recording project, The Heart Always Remembers is an eclectic offering of originals, jazz standards and vintage tunes. In this collection that is nostalgic, comedic, sexy, playful, sweet, even somber, Marlowe returns to the deep-seated heart of why she sings, yet captures tones, nuances, impressions that have come with decades as a vocalist.
A rare versatility in timbre and range, along with a keen ear, Marlowe brings an expressive and intuitive approach to jazz and blues, pop and musical theater, as well as creative and bold statements to her originals. With vocal power, warmth, mastery, coupled with a rapport that reflects sass, savvy and humor, Marlowe captivates listeners and inspires memorable shows. She has toured and performed throughout the U.S. as vocalist with the LA-based band, Avalon Cats, directed by Grammy-winning producer Rusty Higgins and was lead vocalist with a big band on the West Coast, CA for a decade. She has performed around the U.S. at festivals, clubs, events, been a featured guest artist with symphonies, and is a sought-after vocal educator and music director. She has released two original singles, “Where Is Bethlehem?” and “A Sweet Wind” under her own label, LoveDog! Media. Her second full-length album “The Heart Always Remembers” (including originals) will be released September 2020.
